RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PURCHASER
SECTION 1 -PLANTINGS AND GRAVE DECORATIONS
1 Effective January 1, 2000 - No trees, shrubs or bushes may be planted on graves.
2 Flowers may be placed only at the base of a family monument (headstone), and may not extend more than 12" from the front of the base of the stone.
3 No glass, ceramic, or plastic containers shall be used for flowers or grave decorations .
4 Artificial flowers are permitted only during the winter months - Nov. 15---March 15
5 Summer decorations must be removed by November 15; winter decorations .must be removed by March 15.
6 All unauthorized decorations or plantings will be removed
7 No Solar lighting may be placed on gravesites.
SECTION 2 - MARKERS: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASING A
MONUMENT
1 SIZE OF HEADSTONE:
For a single grave, no more than a 30" base: a height of no more than 32" from ground to top, slant or upright stone. A single grave can have a headstone and a flush foot stone.
2 SIZE OF HEADSTONE:
For multiple family single grave sites, there may be a single family monument in the center of the graves. Height of this monument shall not exceed 48" from the ground. It is permissible to have a single flat flush foot stone for each burial grave-site within that family section.
3 Corner and name markers must be flush to the ground.
4 The Board of Directors shall approve the suitability of all monuments.
5 The ORCA may refuse permission for any installation, which in it's sole direction, it determines is objectionable or inappropriate.
6 No monument may be installed unless all cemetery fees are paid.
7 NO STONES OR MONUMENTS MAY BE PLACED IN THE CEMETERY UNTIL A FULL SCALE PRINT HAS BEEN SUBMITTED TO THE SUPERINTENDENT FOR HIS SIGNATURE, AND ACCEPTANCE, BEFORE ANY WORK CAN BE DONE.
8 All foundations for monuments must be installed by the cemetery Superintendent. The cost of the installation will be paid to the Superintendent by the monument company.
SECTION 3 - DOUBLE DEPTH GRAVES
1 The Cemetery requires installation of a double vault at the time of purchase. This vault becomes a permanent improvement to the cemetery property and may not be removed. Please contact your funeral director for further information.
SECTION 4 - BABY BURIALS
1 Please contact the superintendent.
SECTION 5 - GENERAL REGULATIONS
1 No dogs, bicycles or motorcycles are permitted in the cemetery.
2 Children are not allowed in the cemetery unless accompanied by an adult.
3 The Cemetery closes at sun-down.
4 The cemetery board may temporarily close the cemetery for burials or monument installation due to hazardous weather conditions.
SECTION 6 - RESPONSIBILITIES OF O.S. RIVERSIDE CEMETERY ASSOC. INC.
1 Mowing and maintenance of grass, hedges, shrubbery, trees, and general maintenance of the grounds.
2 Seed new grave-sites after they have been prepared by the grave digger. Any graves dug between November 1 and March 30 will not receive final dressing until ground is dry and settled - by April 30.
3 The Cemetery Association periodically will refill any graves that have settled.
4 Fall and Spring Clean-Up will be done by the Cemetery Association.
5 Removal of funeral flowers is at the discretion of the Superintendent, removal of winter decorations by March 15, and summer decoration by November 15.
6 The Association does not provide weeding of individual flower holders, watering of individual flowers, or plants, nor application of pest deterrents.
7 Contractors and others are required to interrupt their work pending a nearby funeral or procession.
FURTHER INFORMATION
By-Laws Article 6, Section 3:
A full size grave-site with an interment allows only ONE cremation burial over the interred and only one foot stone per each grave-site. Should a headstone be in place the names of the interred may be entered on the headstone.
